Friendship

For the past few weeks I have been thinking a lot about friendship and what it really means. I've thought of old friends, new friends, friends who are not really friends, my best friends. These quotations are what friendship really means to me.

True friendship isn't about being there when it's convenient; it's about being there when it's not.

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.

A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows you are slightly cracked.

Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to the another, "What! You too? I thought I was the only one."

One measure of friendship consists not in the number of things friends can discuss, but in the number of things they need no longer mention.

Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer.

Friends aren't jumper cables. You don't throw them in the trunk then pull them out for emergencies.

Friendship is like a glass ornament, once it is broken it can rarely be put back together exactly the same way.

Nora Roberts

I am loving Vision in White. I have had it on my shelf for a while but always had something else that I wanted to read first. I just picked it up on Thursday night and read the first few chapters. LOVE it! It was a perfect Friday night with a cup of tea, my La-Z-Boy, and my book. I can't wait to read the other two that are out: Bed of Roses and Savor the Moment. I am kind of happy the weather is crappy today. I have a terrible cold I can't seem to shake. The cold and rainy weather gives me an excuse to stay inside, catch up on my TV shows and read in bed.

Teacher!

Now my practicum is over and I can officially call myself a teacher!! It has not sunk it yet. It all seems to have gone by way too fast. I've been in University for the past 7 years and it's now over! I can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that I am done school!! It's a strange feeling.

This weekend is the first weekend I've had completely off for a long time. I watched TV, shopped and read all guilt free. Usually I tend to feel guilty for taking time off for myself when I know that I have papers to mark and lessons to prepare. I also tend to procrastinate. But this weekend I could actually sit back and not worry about a thing...and it was great!

Best part of the weekend?? I watched Anne of Green Gables part 1 today. It brought back so many memories. It was my favourite book and movie as a child and I recently got the box set of dvds as a gift. I've only watched 1.5 hours so far and the whole set is 13 hours! I can't wait!! :) Someday I hope to find my Gilbert!
