Fall Releases

I know I have been sporadically blogging in the past few months. Now that I am settled back at school with my classes, I plan to get back on track with my weekly schedule of posts.

There are so many amazing books coming out this fall! I have been trying to pick them up as they are release..some in hard copy and some on my kobo. I will admit that I have been in another reading slump. I have fallen very behind on my reading challenge for the year. Even though I enjoy the books I am reading, I am not as quick to pick up books when I get home or when I have some down time. I have been distracted by other things especially my new access to the American Netflix. I am catching up on so many of my favourite shows. But with so many great books coming out, I am slowly getting back into reading mode. So far I have only read Fathomless and I loved it. Look for a review on my Monday Reads post.

I am so excited for this release

Tomorrow Fathomless comes out. I have been anxiously awaiting the third installment in Jackson Pearce's fairytale retellings and am especially excited that this is a retelling of The Little Mermaid (my personal favourite of all the Disney movies). I will be picking this up tomorrow!

Synopsis: Celia Reynolds is the youngest in a set of triplets and the one with the least valuable power. Anne can see the future, and Jane can see the present, but all Celia can see is the past. And the past seems so insignificant -- until Celia meets Lo.

Lo doesn't know who she is. Or who she was. Once a human, she is now almost entirely a creature of the sea -- a nymph, an ocean girl, a mermaid -- all terms too pretty for the soulless monster she knows she's becoming. Lo clings to shreds of her former self, fighting to remember her past, even as she's tempted to embrace her dark immortality.

When a handsome boy named Jude falls off a pier and into the ocean, Celia and Lo work together to rescue him from the waves. The two form a friendship, but soon they find themselves competing for Jude's affection. Lo wants more than that, though. According to the ocean girls, there's only one way for Lo to earn back her humanity. She must persuade a mortal to love her . . . and steal his soul.
